History of Quality
More than 70 years of experience is built into each ROOTS Gas Meter.
Using the
ROOTS Principle of measuring flow rates, two "figure-eight" shaped impellers
measure gas as it passes through the meter.
The first ROOTS Meter was built by the Connersville Blower Company in
1920 in
Connersville, Indiana. Dresser Industries purchased the company in 1944 and the
company became the ROOTS Division.
In 1968, the division was split and the ROOTS Meter plant was moved to
Houston, Texas. The new operation was called Dresser Measurement.
Dresser Measurement is the leading worldwide supplier of rotary positive
displacement gas meters and associated instrumentation. The meters are
marketed under the tradename ROOTS Meters.
They are manufactured in Houston, Texas, USA. Assembly, testing and
marketing facilities are also located in Ontario, Canada; Warrington, En- gland;
and Panningen, Netherlands. Sales representatives are located in principal cities
throughout the world.
The ROOTS Gas Meter is used to measure natural gas at commercial
buildings,
restaurants, laundries, schools, manufacturing plants, to CNG refueling stations
and many other applications.
ROOTS Gas Meters have been certified and approved for custody transfer of
natural gas in all 50 U. S. states, Canada, the United Kingdom, the European
Economic Community, South America, Africa, Pakistan, Singapore, Russia,
Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Malaysia and many other
countries throughout the world.
Quality is our primary goal at Dresser Measurement. Our spare parts business and
product repair business combined are less than 1 percent of our total sales. This
fact truly illustrates our product reliability.
Dresser Measurement is also a leading supplier of related electronic instru-
mentation and meter proving equipment. The recent introduction of the "B3"

Collection System
