TechLite insulation is Pre-jacketed at the factory to
lower your installed cost. Choose from one of seven
jacket materials to suit your individual requirements:
SSL/ASJ is a high performance, low
cost, insulation
system for indoor application. The jacket may include
use as a vapor barrier. Suitable for institutional, commer-
cial and light industrial facilities where the piping is
located in dry, low abuse areas.
SSL/279 aluminum fused to vinyl: .020"
Thk. For use
outdoors, to provide an aluminum weather and vapor
barrier with heavy rigid vinyl fused to the inside to
prevent corrosion of the aluminum. Can be used indoors
for food and drug plants demanding a metal jacketing for
hot water washdown. Light weight sheet metal with
superior dent and crease resistance, providing quicker,
sealable characteristics.
SSL/379 provides a tough and durable jacket suitable for
most general insulation applications, both indoors and
out. The 379 30 mil jacket is available in a wide variety
of colors at no additional charge. Bubbles or wrinkles
may occur in jacket because of the thermal co-efficient
of expansion of the insulation and the jacket. This does
not effect thermal efficiency. isee engineering binder for

SSL/479 is the most versatile and cost effective insula-
tion system for indoor and outdoor use where protection
from solvents, acids, chemicals and harsh environments
is a must. The jacket is designed to withstand high
abuse. For industrial projects in refineries, chemical and
petrochemical plants.
SSL/679 provides an excellent barrier for low fre-
quency noise sources. It is suitable for use on hot or cold
surfaces, both indoors and outdoors where the surround-
ing environment needs to be silenced from excessive
noise.
SSL/779 modified 25 mil gray PVC formulated for
maximum outdoor weathering, chemical resistance and
high deflection temperature. Used in petrochemical,
food and drug plants where steam or scalding wash-
downs would damage other products. Shrugs off severe
salt water spray and offers very good acid and caustic
chemical resistance.
SSL/879 is the solution for light industrial facilities
where cleanliness and appearance are vital. The high
gloss, FDA approved PVC jacket with fiber free insula-
tion and low fire/smoke rating for food processing,
freezer and refrigeration storage facilities. The SSL/879
is designed primarily for indoor application, but it is
also resistant to many chemicals and environmental
pollu- tants.
TECHLITE CAN BE INSTALLED IN HALF THE TIME
REQUIRED BY OTHER COMMON INSULATION SYSTEMS.
SSL (self-seal lap) is standard on all factory jacketed TechLite systems.
Installation is a very simple procedure and can be accomplished at
any ambient temperature between 32'F and II O'F.
One end of the jacket is supplied with a 2" overlap.
Simply place the insulation around the pipe, then peel the liner from
the adhesive strip. Align the insulation and rub the adhesive strip
against the jacket to effect a tight seal. Use fastener weld to complete
the recommended installation procedure. This is necessary to complete
the permanent seal and effect c3 vapor barrier seal. No bands
or sta- ples are required. Detailed instructions are furnished with shipment.
